We've been busy lately. October 31st we attended our first Drupaljam in Breda. It was a good event with the same nice informal, open-source atmosphere we had in Hungary, this year. After Drupalcon, we kind of knew what to expect and it what a little bit like Drupalcon, only smaller. For those who have not been to either events: Drupaljam is a relatively small informal seminar organized by Drupal developers and like-minded people for others of the same category. Also people who are relatively knew to Drupal are welcome.
Highlights
- For us the the Revamping of drupal.be and drupal.nl project was one of the main focal points for this Drupaljam. As we take part in this interesting project, it was good to see everyone again and talk things over. Since all of us are doing this on a voluntary bases, according to his or her own agenda, this meetup was a good checkup. The current state of the project was presented by Roel de Meester, in the evening.
- Clemens Tolboom talked about the possibilities of managing Drupal by command line, using drush and several other modules. The extension he made for it is called the drush module manager. Unfortunately there was a bad case of failing hardware during the presentation, but it's available in pdf
- OneShoe presented a showcase on the new GroenLinks (political group in the Netherlands) website which will be completely powered by Drupal. They did a pretty heavy job by handling various subsites on several subdomains, all with separate access control levels. It's good to see Drupal is taken to its limits when there is the need for it. We may showcase The Canon of Amsterdam ourselves next time, as it was similarly complex.
We entered our first Drupaljam as a sponsor and we would like to thank everyone for making this a succes. Thanks to Avans Hogeschool and the organizers as well as everyone else behind the scenes and supporting this event.
